Make Your Own Cleaning Wipes

Love the convenient cleaning wipes but hate the cost? Make your own. You need:

  1. Airtight container
  2. Paper towels (Quilted Bounty or Viva Scrub Cloths)
  3. Cleaning Solution
    (buy the larger economical cleaning solutions or the recipes below).

Instructions

  1. Cut paper towels in half with serrated or electric knife.
  2. Place cut side down in airtight container.
  3. Pour cleaning solution over paper towels.
  4. Remove wet cardboard tube.
  5. Pull out wipes from center to use.
  6. If they begin to dry out, add more water or cleaning solution as necessary.

Cleaner Recipes

These recipes make about three cups of solution depending on the size and absorbency of the paper towels.

Window and Glass Wipes

2 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
1 tablespoon white vinegar

General Cleaning Wipes

1 1/2 cups white vinegar
1 1/2 cups water

Disinfectant Wipes

1/4 to 1/2 cup cleaning solution(Pine-Sol, Mr. Clean, etc.)
2 1/2 to 2 3/4 cup water

Baby Wipes

1/2 cup baby oil
1/2 cup baby wash
2 cups water
(There are dozens of baby wipe recipes online)

    Robin, do you need to use a certain brand of paper towel? I can just imagine a roll of paper towels disintegrating after being drenched in cleaning solution.
