Driving and Riding Miniature Horses

Today we drove our miniature horses and saddle broke Bubbles. We drove all three minis (individually rotating in two carts). The photos show us in one area but we had a ball in the fields, pastures, and woods (over 40 acres) for several hours. Works for me!
It was a great family day. We walked, trotted, galloped, and backed with each easily. David (8) and Christopher (7) both drove solo for the first time today.![]()

Saddle Breaking Bubbles: Green on Green
Today was Bubbles first day with a saddle. Green on green. David (8) has only had a dozen riding lessons so I was apprehensive but it went beautifully. Bubbles was a perfect gentleman. Isn’t the western saddle too cute?

Bubbles is a Class B miniature, larger than our other minis and can handle David’s 60 lbs. Tobby and Comanche are much smaller and will only be used for driving (only very small children, that weigh 40 pounds or less should ride a class A mini).

I have been looking on the internet for some GPs. I was hoping we could get one when we went to NM, because I knew there was a breeder there, but we didn’t have time.
I am hoping we can find one.
I know you love yours to death, and I am wondering if they are wanderers. I read on the GP Rescue site that they like to wander. Have you had any problems with that? I don’t think we can afford to get two (though I would LOVE to!), but we do have goats - 7 of them.
Great pictures of the minis. Looks like loads of fun!!

HUGS and Blessings!!!

This is the first time I’ve visited your website and WOW! What a huge amount of information, and so interesting! Those miniature horses are incredible. When my kids get up (first day of school vacation is today, so it’s sleep-in time) your site is the first thing I’m going to show them!
I will be back for sure.

You’ve confirmed what I suspected.
I didn’t think that adults could ride minis, but a friend of mine said they could.
I want a mini as a companion for my lonely mare, but they’re so expensive. I wouldn’t want to pay so much money for a horse I couldn’t use when all I want is a companion.
Do you know anyone with an older/unsound mini who is willing to sell for cheap? Klarabell would love a mare to gossip with.
