Learning to Knit via YouTube Videos

I sew, quilt, smock and crochet, but I never learned to knit. I’ve always wanted to. Yesterday, I bought a skein of yarn and needles.
I watched a few “learn to knit” videos on YouTube and the Learn to Knit website and today I have a 5 x 6 piece of eh, something – we’ll call it practice. I love it. Our kittens love the yarn. I’ll post my first creation when finished.

The last time I ever crochet was 22 years ago when I was in Grade school! I made a nice table runner! I dunno where it is now though. That is so cool a learn to crochet vid at you tube that’s useful.

Hi there! I just had to comment on this post! I read your blog faithfully through my Google Reader. I, too, taught myself how to knit through watching YouTube videos! I love it! It’s a peaceful, fun activity and I’m using it to create for Christmas gifts!
Enjoy!!! A couple of great sites for patterns and ideas: http://www.knitty.com and http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com
