Garages are often a dumping place for all of our dirty, messy, unused, unneeded stuff. After all, who wants that stuff in the house! What’s wrong with this picture? just because you can’t see it – why keep dirty, messy, unused, unneeded stuff in the first place? Instead, think of your garage as part of your home, part of your life, and a space to utilize in a way that enhances your lifestyle!
What physical activities are you interested in, or would do more often, if all the proper tools and supplies were right at your fingertips? Go ahead ~ clear the clutter, get rid of your cast-offs and create a space TODAY for your favorite activity.
Here are 5 suggested categories of activities you may like to have access to:
- Gardening - Do you love to garden but never quite get around to it because your tools are buried? Give yourself a shelf or bench properly stocked with tools, gloves, pots, fertilizer and even inspirational photos.
Biking - When was the last time you pulled out your bike and took an evening ride around your neighborhood? Create a space where your bike is easily accessible and be sure to include a bike pump, helmet and water bottles.
- Water sports - Do you love to spend time at the pool, lake or beach? Create an area with all your water sports equipment and be sure to include towels, blankets, sunblock and coolers
Camping - Do you have fond memories of camping as a child or with your own children? Why not uncover all that equipment, group it together and plan a weekend getaway. Create an area for your tent.

Great ideas.
We have an almost-empty garage, because we just finished putting up drywall in it. A lot of the things people might store in their garage, like bikes and mowers, etc., we store in our barn, but strollers are in there. We do have a special place for our gardening tools and such too – an old outhouse!
Thanks for all the great ideas!

My garage is insanely full of boxes half full of stuff from when I moved in a year and a half ago and other random stuff I’m storing. I’m FINALLY in the process of sorting through it all.
