It IS never too late for reading aloud. I myself still love to hear a good story from someone else reading it. (Big book on tape/cd fan here) For children it is of the utmost importance. Even teenagers can benefit from being read aloud to. My eldest granddaughter (she is nine) and I to take turns reading books together. I love hearing her read and she likes the way I "get into" the characters. This is a great family bonding activity that we enjoy sharing. Her younger sister, who is 4, still likes to cuddle up and have me read to her, which I just adore doing. Even their 2 year old cousin brings me books to read with him although his attention span is not as great as theirs is yet. Thanks for sharing this post and its gentle reminder.
